Welcome to your Carpenters Union Local 1946 London Ontario's online home. Local 1946 is your progressive skilled trades organization that represents over 600 women and men working in the London area. We have over 180 active contractors working in Local 1946's geographical area, in a variety of skilled trades including carpentry (concrete, scaffolding, finish work, millwork, office furniture, wood framing, doors and hardware), drywall (steel stud, acoustical ceilings, building envelopes using dense glass and composite paneling, access flooring), and flooring (resilient, carpet and ceramic tile).

We are here to provide you with an interactive and informative perspective on the Carpenters Union Local 1946 London Ontario, its affiliated Locals, its members and the services that we provide. Our goal is to provide as much information as possible for our members and industry partners and we will be updating it constantly, so be sure to check back from time-to-time for important news.

SUCCESSFUL OPERATIONS

It's our responsibility to oversee the successful operations of the Council for both the short and long term. This involves participating in collective agreement negotiations, executive meetings, membership meetings and other organizational committees. It also requires the constant diligence and hard work of our Business Representatives who are in the field, visiting your job sites in order to ensure that your wages are properly paid and that working conditions are up to standard.

We rely on the support and input of our members to help keep us strong and growing.

Working at Heights - Refresher

  • Course Code: WAH-R
  • Description: In accordance with government standards, all construction workers in the province of Ontario must be certified in Working at Heights. During the Working at Heights course, participants will learn about the hazards associated with working at heights, hazard controls and OHSA regulations. Participants will be expected to apply the principles they learned in working at heights daily to protect themselves and others. PPE Required: Please bring hard hat, safety boots, safety glasses. Fee: Members: A No Show/Cancellation fee will be levied if there is less than 24 hour notice of cancellation or if there is a "No Show" for the course. Min. Class Size: 8
  • Usual Hours: 4.00 hr
