As you know, the province continues the gradual process of reopening essential businesses and other workplaces. As part of the resumption of critical activities, the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) is currently coordinating the resumption of exams in a manner that will protect the health of clients and staff, consistent with the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and public health authorities. Individual exam centres will gradually reopen across Ontario with limited capacity, with the Ministry working towards opening all exam centres by the end of the month. The Ministry is starting the process of rescheduling those individuals who had their already booked exams postponed. Given the backlog, they ask for patience while they seek to accommodate everyone who is waiting.
Once you have completed your Certificate of Apprenticeship, you can go for the next level of certification and book your exam. When you complete your training as an apprentice (All levels of Trade School and Hours), Local 1946 will send documents to the Ministry confirming you have completed. You will get a Certificate of Apprenticeship sent to you within six weeks of the date the Ministry has been notified you completed your training.
